Sustainable economic development

According to OECD, developed countries have provided in 2017 overall USD 134 billion for aid to developing countries. However, these grants and loans should be viewed as a support mechanism within a limited timeframe and not as the solution to alleviate poverty in developing countries.

Self-reliance through utilization of a country’s own resources and facilitation of trade by developing consistent policies should be considered as the main accelerator for sustainable economic development and growth. To being able to draft consistent policies, it is important to strengthen the capacities of governmental institutions and involves all stakeholders into the process. Institutional development can be only achieved through a demand-driven human resource management on all levels of the country in order to be in the position to implement the policies in an effective manner. Moreover, it is important to utilize the synergy effects of the region through consideration of regional energy program.
